For more than 50 years, Mission Regional Medical Center has been providing quality healthcare to the people of Hidalgo and Starr Counties. Founded by the City of Mission, the then 38-bed hospital opened its doors in 1953, providing basic hospital care to the community. | |

| Since then, the hospital has experienced tremendous growth in facilities and services. Today, the hospital is licensed for 289 beds and provides general hospital care beyond its county lines. To complement the growth, the name has changed from Mission Hospital to Mission Regional Medical Center. The name change more appropriately reflects a much larger service area in the Rio Grande Valley. |
